Hirschmann™ Embedded Ethernet switches feature the functional scope of a standalone system

The new Embedded Ethernet EES20 and EES25 switches from Hirschmann™ provide automation equipment that already has an Ethernet interface with the complete functional scope of a standalone switch.

Manufacturers of such automation equipment no longer have to concern themselves with the switch technology, allowing them to concentrate on their core competencies and so minimize their development risks. The wider functional scope and faster time-to-market also render competitive advantages. A development kit is available to help manufacturers with the design-in process.

The EES20 and EES25 switches both have six Fast Ethernet ports that can be configured for either 10/100 BASE-TX or 100 BASE-FX. They also offer extensive management and filter functions plus a variety of redundancy methods and port security. In addition, the EES25 supports precision synchronization as per IEEE 1588v2 plus PRP (parallel redundancy protocol), which guarantees uninterrupted data communications. Since the functions of both Embedded Ethernet switches can be kept up-to-date via software updates, they offer maximum flexibility and future security.
